Memorial Day Weekend is upon us and we at B&K are grateful for those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our Nation. When we are moving Families from old homes to new homes, we have the privilege of seeing a lot of war memorabilia. We see many flags folded into triangles, wartime photos, uniforms, and medals. It is an honor to transport these items and we make sure to handle them with great care. (As with all items!)
But there are more ways you can honor those we lost and all Veterans for that matter. Here are some ideas:

- Offer support to Gold Star families who have lost a loved one in military service. Expressing empathy and providing practical help can make a significant impact.
Volunteer for Veterans Organizations:
- Volunteer your time with veterans’ organizations and charities to support and assist veterans and their families.
Educate Others:
- Educate others, especially the younger generation, about the significance of Memorial Day and the sacrifices made by those who died in battle.
Create a Remembrance Display:
- Create a remembrance display with photos and stories of fallen soldiers in a public space to raise awareness and honor their memory.
Support Military and Veteran Causes:
- Support military and veteran causes through donations, fundraising, or advocacy to help improve the lives of those who serve and remember those who have fallen.

Properly pack and protect your valuables. When you are packing, make sure you have sturdy boxes and double tape the bottoms. Don’t over pack the boxes. Keep them to a manageable weight. And make sure items in the boxes, which are fragile, are wrapped well with packing paper or bubble wrap. Label every box with it’s intended location.
